Summary:

The Perioperative Registered Nurse is responsible andaccountable for the delivery if individualized nursing care topatients having surgical interventions. Incorporating currentclinical knowledge with established nursing practice, he or sheperforms nursing interventions utilizing the nursing process.Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the nursing caredelivered to assigned patients. Included within this assignment isthe responsibility for ensuring effective communications betweenthe nurse, the patient, other staff, supervision, physicians,anesthesia providers and other hospital departments. Per theDepartments Scope of Practice, this position requires providingquality care in an efficient and safe manner that demonstrates anunderstanding of the functional/developmental age of theindividuals served. (Infant-older adults).

Requirements:

• One-year recent experience in the surgicalsetting required. 5 years surgical scrub experiencerequired.
• Current Louisiana RNLicense
• Current BLSCard
• ACLS Certificationrequired.
