Summary:

Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible forcoordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging proceduresutilizing radiopharmaceutical and medical imaging equipment.Professional and departmental protocols are followed to provide thephysician diagnostic images to identify and/or plan appropriatetreatment for the patient's condition. Behavior and communicationskills must align with the organizations mission, values andculture.

Responsibilities:

• Meets expectations of the applicableOneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, orLeader of Leaders.
• Adheres to standards forradiation safety and for appropriate waste separation and disposalof radioactive agents by performing specific tasks mandated byFederal, State and Hospital policies.
• Documents daily all calibrations and floodfilms for all Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment, Dose Calibratoraccuracy check, Hot Lab area survey, dispensed pharmaceuticals andradioactive source disposal.
• Practices safehandling of radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures at alltimes.
• Prepares and administersradiopharmaceuticals, as prescribed by the Physician, by adheringto established procedures.
• Performs periodicquality control tests, documenting according to Hospital policiesand procedures.
• Demonstrates adherence to theCORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
• Performs otherduties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of RadiologyTechnology or other accepted and approved equivalentrequired.
• A minimum of one (1) years'experience in a clinical nuclear medicine settingrequired.
• Two (2) years' experience in aclinical Radiology setting is preferred.
• Current State Licensure required.
• Current BLS(American Heart Association) required.
• Registration by one of the credentialing bodies for NuclearMedicine Technologists is required: American Registry ofRadiologic Technologists (A. R. R. T.) (N) Required;Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (N. M. T. C.B.) Required.
